Culzean bay

I’ve finally rocked up at culzean bay. The ride has been very good today, I left Lochranza on arran early and started with a tough slog up hill almost immediately. After a couple of miles of that in wonderful sunshine I defended around the east coast of the island. It’s truly a stunning place and one and I think my favourite place so far. The downhill sections were great fun and both I and the bike have enjoyed it immensely. 15 miles later I was in Brodick a largish town and a port to the main land. The ride gave me time to ponder on the trip so far, which I feel I’m finally shifting into, I’ve developed small routines or rituals, in the setup of my camp and eating and so on that are starting to form part of my day. Once I got to the main land and ardrosson a national cycle route led me through to Ayr, near where my gran was born. It was a strange group of towns, where I’d try to use the houses and cars etc to gauge the lie and state of the area, it seemed to shift and lap between richer and poorer areas, I also became worried by the sheer amount of glass on the roads the bike however survived unscathed. She’s becoming more difficult to shift between gears, a problem I’m hoping to solve in Dublin otherwise she and I are going well.
