Day 13: penmaenpool
I left the campsite about 9:30 after being ripped off £12 for a rather poor site, with £1 showers and rather lame facilities so I can’t recommend it. The ride was initially rather hilly but I got some pace going and managed to keep moving. There was one particularly long high climb which must be my longest non-stop climb to date, out of Porthmadog followed by a good few miles downhill, which was great fun. I managed to equal my current top speed record of 32 mph. The main roads were not much fun but in the nice sun it didn’t bother me much. I made it to penmaenpool about 5 and struggled to find a campsite that would take tents, in the end I opted for a rather remote youth hostel, basic but much needed. I was so tired I was in bed asleep by 10.
